The Everyday Carry

This is the Everyday Carry collection. It comprises of a few items that I have in my bag on a regular basis. Each of these items reveal a bit about my own personality. Some have stories behind them while others remind me of just a particular thought. They all have their unique characteristics that I appreciate and wanted to share.

Frixion Pen

This is a pen. However, this is no ordinary pen. This is an erasable pen. It has special ink that when raised to 60 degrees Celsius, it becomes invisible. This is achieved through the heat caused by friction when the user erases using the plastic eraser at the other end of the pen. It is also possible to have the ink reappear if it is lowered to -10 degrees Celsius. Thus, please don’t put my exam in the oven or freezer.

Ticonderoga Pencil

This is a Ticonderoga pencil. It is not one of those fake plastic tubes that pushes rods of graphite through a hole. It is a true, wooden pencil. It has the stereotypical yellow body, green neck, and pink eraser. It clearly indicates it is grade 2HB so that you know it is acceptable on tests. You must actually sharpen the pencil in order to continue using it. Eventually, you will make that fateful decision: whether you will continue using that inch-long pencil or sharpen a new one.

Leatherman Micra

This is the Micra multi-tool made by Leatherman. It has many things. It has a wrist strap. It has an eleven centimeter ruler. It has a pair of scissors. It has a Phillips-head screwdriver. It has a flathead screwdriver. It also has a mini-flathead screwdriver. It has a file. It has tweezers. It has a bottle opener. It has a 2-inch knife. It has scuffs. It has rust. It has life experience.

Kingston USB Flash Drive

This is a 32 GB USB flash drive by Kingston. This flash drive has both USB Type-A and USB Type-C. It’s transfer speeds can also run at USB 3.1. The duel connectors allow me to easily transfer data from my phone to my laptop and vice versa. Many people find flash drives obsolete with cloud storage these days. I can say from experience, they’re all fools.

Anker PowerCore 5000

This is the Anker PowerCore 5000 powerbank. It has a charge capacity of 5000mAh. An added feature is that it features Anker’s proprietary IQ chagrining technology which supposedly detects and supplies the maximum current the connected device can accept. That said, I am slightly annoyed by how it is shaped as a cylinder. It alone is nice to hold in your hand, but when trying to hold it with your phone is incredibly uncomfortable. It annoyingly rolls on its side.

Ticwatch E by Mobvoi

This is the Ticwatch E smartwatch by Mobvoi. It runs Wear OS by Google, previously known as Android Wear. It is IP67 rated water resistant and has a 1.5-day battery life. While it does not have NFC, it is way cheaper than those Apple Watches and Samsung Gears at less than half the cost. I wish people did more research in purchasing electronics.

Sony h.ear on Wireless NC Headphones

These are the Sony MDR-100ABN h.ear on Wireless Noise Cancelling headphones. These are amazing for blocking out the low rumble of trains, planes, and traffic. Not to mention they have a 22-hour battery life with noise cancelling on. The noise cancelling is on par with many other similar headphones; however, this was an infinitely better deal. With a MSRP of 300 USD, I have to thank Amazon for the random sale of 180 USD.

Tally-Ho Viper Deck

This is a deck of Tally-Ho Viper playing cards co-produced by the U.S. Playing Card Company and Theory 11. They feature a black card stock and air-cushioned finish. They also feature all metallic grey ink. That makes it very hard to distinguish between the suits when playing with them. It does however mean that they look very sleek when fanning. That along with the intricate back design turns heads and puts those Bicycles to shame.
